Find Your Calm: Relaxation & Mindfulness Techniques

Find Your Calm: Relaxation & Mindfulness Techniques

Want to worry less?

One way to reduce worry, is to reduce your overall level of stress and anxiety.

How do you do that?

Try relaxation and mindfulness techniques!

You can start here...

Did you know that relaxation techniques & mindfulness practices are not the same thing? In fact, they serve a completely different purpose.

Relaxation exercises are 'change' techniques - they help you change your state of tension to a state of relaxation.

Mindfulness exercises are 'acceptance' practices, they help you accept the present moment without judgement.

You may feel calmer, but that's not the point.

The real benefit of mindfulness is increased awareness of what is going on within you, and around you, and being able to accept your current reality as it is.

Why is this important?

Because awareness & acceptance leads to wiser choices & more effective actions, & that can get you down the path to calm (and the calmer you are, the less you will worry, and the less you will worry about your worry!).

Both techniques are great for your physical & mental health, so whether you want a direct or indirect path to calm, this collection has 5 relaxation exercises & 5 mindfulness practices to help you get there.

This collection by Dr. Lillian (me!), includes...

5 Relaxation exercises:

Including Abdominal Breathing and Progressive Muscle Relaxation (one for stress, one for sleep)

Two Visualizations:

Including clouds and beach and

5 mindfulness exercises:

Including Self-Validation, Mindfulness of Thoughts, Mindfulness of Emotions, Building Resilience through Acceptance, and Self-Worth Induction for People-Pleasers.

I love the idea of blocking out worry time!!
This makes so much more sense than just trying to stop worrying.

I like that the app lets you edit your worries, schedule worry times across days, and also export your worries.
